New audio books arrive in time for summer

If you enjoy listening to someone reading a good book to you, especially as you relax during the summer, then you should try out the latest piece of technology to hit the bookshelves.

At this time, the Gilchrist County Public Library, part of the Three Rivers Regional Library System, owns the only set of these miniature audio books that fit in the palm of your hands.

Since the audio books arrived at the Gilchrist County Public Library in April, lots of people have been asking to borrow them, according to library manager Wilma Mattuccii. “They are going out every week like hot cakes,” said Mattuccii.

Terri McIntyre, who has assisted Mattucci as a library technician since April, said she has enjoyed using them. “I like them,” she said.

Cheryl Pulliam, operations manager for Three Rivers Regional Library System, said everyone is excited about the audio books and hopes the public will continue to use them in the years to come. Pulliam also said the library is planning to add a set of these audio books to the other library branches in the near future.
