BREAKING NEWS: 3 CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED FELONY MURDER

Staff

Three Live Oak residents were arrested Wednesday on charges of attempted felony murder, according to Det. Sgt. Ron Shaw of the Live Oak Police Department.

Jailed were:

Gil Antonio Martinez, 35, of 1619 Ruby St.;

Andrea Hope Martinez, 29, same address; and

Jimmy Eugene Martinez, 40, of 2836 103rd Road.

LOPD officers responded to a reported fight Tuesday at about 1:09 p.m. in Apt. 1008 of Mel Margo Apartments in Live Oak. On arrival, officers found the tenant, Cort Davis, 47, bleeding from a head injury, said Shaw. As EMS personnel tended to him, Davis reportedly identified his attackers, whom he said beat him with a baseball bat.

The four had been at Davis's apartment drinking beer most of the day, said Shaw. A fight broke out following a verbal confrontation and all three suspects allegedly began beating Davis, severely injuring him. Davis was taken to Shands Live Oak with life-threatening injuries, and later transferred to a Gainesville-area hospital.

As of Tuesday evening hospital representatives listed Davis in stable condition, said Shaw.

All three suspects were booked into the Suwannee County Jail on one count each of attempted felony murder and are being held on $250,000 bond each.
