VIDEO: Suwannee chapter of NAACP marks 100th anniversary of national organization

Members of the Suwannee County NAACP Branch 5137 and guests gathered Sunday at New Bethlehem A.M.E. Church in McAlpin to celebrate the national organization's 100th anniversary and to honor several local African American leaders. Participants gathered hand in hand at the close of the ceremony singing a moving rendition of "We Shall Overcome," the celebrated anthem of the civil rights movement. - Video: Carnell Hawthorne Jr.
